big themes from the president's inaugural address last month. then on wednesday the president hits the road. he goes to asheville, north carolina. a three state tour. the presidential barnstorming is also going to hit atlanta and chicago later in the week. in tuesday's speech in the house chamber the president is going to come face to face with his congressional critics, including those who are now vowing to oppose his nomination for top cabinet spots. lindsey graham is leading that efrt. he's threatening to hold up those picks until the white house delivers more information on the september 11th attack in benghazi. >> i don't think we should allow brennan to go forward for the cia directorship, hagel to be confirmed as secretary of defense until the white house gives us an accounting. did the president ever pick up the phone and call anyone in the lebanese government to help these foes? what did the president do? i'm going to ask my colleagues

controversial drone program. gates is supporting a proposal to create a special court for the use of drones abroad. back at home, members of congress remain focused on deficit spending and the sequestration spending that will take place next month. pelosi and cantore laid out the economic divide line. >> what we need is growth. we need growth with jobs, and if you have spending cuts, the education of our children and other investments, like the national institutes of health, where you are hindering growth, you're not going to reduce the did he have silt. it is almost a false argument to say we have a spending problem. we have a budget deficit problem that we have to address. we think the deficit and the national debt are at immoral levels. we think they must be reduced. we're sick and tired of paying interest on a national debt and

murder rate. michelle obama attended the funeral. she met privately with the victim's family and friends. the two people being questioned in the pendleton case, police in chicago say no questions have been filed so far. a massive man hunt continues today in california. he's accused of killing 3 people. a $1 million reward is being offered for the arrest of christopher dorner who is considered 5r78d and extremely dangerous. miguel almaguer reports. this is christopher dorner dumping a gun belts, a helmet and ammunition. the surveillance video was captured across the street from a san diego police station. >> the helmet was sitting right up top and the magazine and the belt was hidden under the boxes. >> reporter: the former cop now

fugitive accused of killing three and wounding two others was fired from the lapd after making false complaints about his training officer. but now the los angeles police chief says a week after the killing spree began he'll reopen dorner's case. >> people think that maybe there is something to what he says and i want to put that to rest and the only way i know how to put that to rest is to review what has already been reviewed at multiple levels. >> retired police chief bill bratton ran the force when dorner was fired in 2008. >> determination would definitely be justice. you don't justifier somebody without significant evidence and information. >> reporter: the search for dorner in the mountains is in its fourth day with investigators now saying they've discovered a cache of weapons and camping gear in his broken down truck. this as the tsa issued an emergency bulletin to regional

enough with the flash flooding. the northeast, we're on the heels of an amazing historic snowstorm which dumped as much as 40 inches of snow in areas of southern connecticut. mind boggling snow totals from northern long island with plus 30 inches all the way up to maine with 35 inches. how widespread the snow was is just crazy. people are still digging out. still 100,000 people without power. the next mini system is coming through. the roads have been cleared. we have freezing rain, sleet and snow moving into the areas that were just hit by this big storm. this is not going to cause too many long-term issues. just for the morning commute. for this morning there are a lot of school delays, a lot of one or two hour delays and the snow and sleet has already started in the hudsonvillely and birk shears. since i'm the bearer of all good news, this upcoming weekend another big storm could be

coming for the east coast. this isn't set in stone. we're starting to see the signs, the potential. it's too early to tell if it's going to be rain, snow, who's going to get nailed. there's a huge trough in the east coast. it allows all the cold air to spill down from the far northern reaches of canada. we'll watch that. again, that's next weekend. it looks like another saturday/sunday type storm. we will warm it up after the freezing rain in new england. temperatures will warm up and melt some of that snow. the rest of the country, oh, yeah, the blizzard conditions are ending in wisconsin and minnesota after you got nailed yesterday. in the southeast, we have your rainy weather. we have a couple of weak storms this week. we have one on wednesday that could bring snow between new york city and baltimore. next weekend is the big potential for a winter event. >> air travel back to normal? >> it's starting to. bradley international, they tried to open up last night or

finds room. game for the clippers. they take it 102-88. little baseball news, pitchers and catchers are going to report today in spring training. the red sox already having some problems. top prospect, bryce brent, the first round draft pick in 2010 will miss a lot of spring training because he accidentally shot himself in the foot cleaning his gun. hate when that happened. fortunately i guess the bullet went through his left leg, came out the other side. according to the general manager of the red sox, ben cherington, brant is not going to have his future with the taem affected by that little accident. finally on "way too early" we love minor league sports. promotion nights, loveable mascots. we're not sure though we entirely endorse this area. the bakersfield con doors took their mascot, a 30 pound bird of prey out on the ice during the national anthem. kind of scoots away here. this is yesterday's game. the bird gets away.
